Kwallak, Plateau State – There was a quiet but powerful sense of purpose in Kwallak as rural dwellers, leaders, and government representatives gathered for the launch of Springforth Ministries International, an initiative driven by Hon. Beni Lar’s passion to respond to real challenges facing rural communities.
The event focused on real issues affecting rural communities of Tarok nation. These include low school enrolment, youth vulnerability, and human trafficking.
A key moment was the award of scholarships to 50 students of Community Secondary School, Kwallak. Many described it as a timely and practical step.
Speaking on behalf of the Secretary to the State Government, Arc. Nanchang Samuel Jatau, Hon. Nanloh Dashe praised the effort. He said keeping children in school helps protect them from danger.
He added that such support reduces the chances of young people falling into social vices.
Hon. Ventim Tyem, also known as Black, represented the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Bldr. Jerry Satmak. He said the gesture shows clear concern for the future of young people.
He noted that education remains one of the strongest ways to build a stable society.
A representative of Hon. Yari Sanchi, Member of the State Economic Team, spoke at the launch. He said the scholarship is not just an act of kindness, but a smart investment.
He explained that lack of opportunity often leads to problems like trafficking.
Speaking with Trill Times News, a representative of former Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Zulfa Bitrus Rimven, commended the approach. He said combining faith with practical help makes a real difference. She added that education gives children direction and hope.
Hon. Lawrence Ramap, Chairman of Kwallak Development Association, represented Hon. Listick Daniel Nanbol. He thanked Hon. Beni Lar for choosing Kwallak. He said the support will help many families immediately.
Other leaders, including Hon. Duklam and Hon. Nanyi Dipnap, also praised the effort.
They said many young people face risks because they lack support. They agreed that helping children stay in school is key.
Speaking with Trill Times News, Hon. Duklam said the gesture will keep children focused.
Hon. Nanyi Dipnap added that supporting families reduces pressure on young people.
In her remarks, the Visioneer, Hon. Beni Lar, said the idea came from what she has seen in many communities.
She said the ministry is not only about preaching, but also about helping people in practical ways. “This started from what we see around us every day,” she said. “Children out of school, families struggling, young people becoming vulnerable. We felt something had to be done, not later, but now.”
She explained that Springforth Ministries International is not only about preaching, but about showing up where people need help the most. “Our faith must speak through what we do,” she added. “If we can keep a child in school, support a family, or guide a young person away from danger, then we are doing what truly matters.”
She also hinted that the scholarship is only a beginning, with plans for wider outreach, health support, and continued engagement in other rural communities.
