Springforth Ministries International has been officially unveiled at Kwallak Primary School in Langtang North, Plateau State, with a strong focus on supporting the education of less privileged children, especially those in rural communities.
Speaking at the event, the Visioneer, Hon. Beni Lar, who represented Langtang North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives from 2007 to 2023, said the Ministry was born out of a deep personal conviction and a desire to make lasting impact. She explained that the initiative is designed to sponsor the education of children who lack access to basic learning opportunities.
She noted that communities such as Fungyallang, Nyer, and several villages in Langtang South will benefit from the programme. “This vision did not come from me alone. God placed this burden in my heart, and I am determined to obey His word. Through this ministry, we will reach the less privileged, especially in our rural communities, and give their children a chance at education. I will do my best to ensure this vision succeeds,” she said.
During the dedication, Rev. Pirnan Dari, Chairman of the Provisional Church Council (PCC) and also Chairman of the Regional Church Council (RCC) Wase, prayed for God’s provision and strength for the Visioneer to sustain the initiative. He described the Ministry as a continuation of the work of early missionaries. “We pray that God will continue to provide for Hon. Beni Lar and give her the strength to sustain this vision. This effort reminds us of the early missionaries who used education to spread the gospel, and today we can see the impact of their work in our land,” he said.
Rev. Sunday Lakong, Chairman of COCIN RCC Langtang, encouraged parents to take advantage of the opportunity by enrolling their children, while also commending the Visioneer for her foresight. “This is a great opportunity for our people. I encourage parents to enrol their children so they can benefit from this support. We appreciate Hon. Beni Lar for this vision and her commitment to the future of our children,” he said.
Chairman of the occasion and Chairman of Langtang South Local Government Area, Hon. Nanfa Alhassan Nbin, described the initiative as timely, especially in the face of declining school enrolment in Tarok land. “This initiative has come at the right time. We are facing a serious drop in school enrolment in Tarok land, and this effort will help to change that. As a government and as a people, we will support this vision to ensure our communities develop,” he said.
Also speaking, the Executive Chairman of Langtang North Local Government Area, Hon. Pirfa Jingfa Tyem, who was represented by his Deputy, Hon. Mrs Deborah Dalen, commended the initiative and pledged the council’s support. “The Executive Chairman deeply appreciates this noble initiative by Hon. Beni Lar. Supporting education, especially for children in rural communities, is key to building a better future for our people. As a local government, we are ready to work with this vision to ensure it succeeds and reaches those who need it most,” she said.
Speaking to Trill Times News, the National President of the Tarok Progressive Youth Association (TAPYA), Amb. Miri Timnan Nyantau (M.T.N), described the initiative as a welcome development for the future of Tarok youth. “This is a timely and commendable initiative. As a youth body that represents Tarok people worldwide, we understand the importance of education in shaping the future of our society. What Hon. Beni Lar has started today will go a long way in restoring hope, especially for children in rural communities. TAPYA fully supports this vision and will continue to encourage our young people to take education seriously,” he said.
Goodwill messages were received from traditional rulers, traditional worshippers known as Ponzhi Nbin, as well as community and youth leaders, who all expressed support for the initiative. “We welcome this initiative and commend Hon. Beni Lar for thinking about the future of our children. Education is key to our progress, and we will continue to support this vision in our communities,” they said.
The well-attended event drew a wide range of participants, including elders, youths, and prominent figures across Tarok land. It ended with the presentation of educational materials and school bags to 100 students who were present, despite schools in Plateau State being on holiday.
