The Chairman of Dambam Local Government Council in Bauchi State, Yakubu Garba Tela, has died after a brief illness. Earlier within the last one week, two Chairmen were confirmed dead in the South Western part of Nigeria
His passing was confirmed in a statement issued on Saturday by Mukhtar Gidado, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Governor Bala Mohammed.
Governor Mohammed described the late Tela as a dedicated public servant, grassroots mobiliser, and community leader who devoted his life to the service of his people and the development of Dambam Local Government Area.
According to the governor, Tela would be remembered for his humility, commitment to duty, and the positive contributions he made to governance at the local level
Funeral prayers for the late council chairman are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. today at Misau Central Mosque.
