The former Speaker, Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Thomas Sule and 14 others detained last week by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in the anti graft agency’s zonal office in Makurdi have today been released on bail

Trill Times News can exclusively report that the former members who were charged for alleged financial misappropriation amounting to about 2.5# billion naira and refusal to return government vehicles in their possession after serving for only six months before being removed in an infamous Court of Appeal ruling were handed stringent bail conditions despite pleading not guilty to their count charges

A source in Abuja who confirmed the development to Trill Times News a few minutes ago said that following the stringent bail conditions, Sen Simon Mwadkwon, the immediate past Senate Minority Leader worked closely with the Executive Governor of the State, Barr Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang to secure their bail

Some of the bail conditions which include surety with properties in choice area in Abuja took less than 24 hrs for Sen Mwadkwon and other prominent political figures in the state to meet

Our Correspondent reports that currently, there is wild jubilation going on in Abuja where coincidentally, Gov Mutfwang is attending a meeting of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with the leadership of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) following the latter’s letter to the PDP over the position of National Secretary

PDP had requested for the meeting with INEC to reiterate the position of Supreme Court which ruled that internal party affairs is strictly the responsibility of a political party including it’s decision on who should be the National Secretary of the party. Details of the meeting chaired by INEC Chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu and held behind closed doors are still not available to newsmen
