BREAKING: Gov Mutfwang Restructures Plateau United And Mighty Jets, Reliefs Mutla And Mbum Boards

The Captain of the Time Is Now Mantra, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang in his “quest to transition all government funded Football Clubs from being government dependent to a more commercial viable and professionally run football organizations” has approved the restructuring of the two government funded clubs

Gov Mutfwang in a statement dated 25th June, 2025 and signed by the Secretary to the Government of the State, Arc Samuel Nanchang Jatau reads “In its quest to transition all government funded Football Clubs from being government dependent to a more commercial viable and professionally run football organizations and to position the Clubs to compete not just on the pitch, but also off the pitch in terms of branding, innovation, operations and sustainability, the Plateau State Government is constrained to make some changes in Plateau United and Mighty Jets Football Clubs”

Arc Jatau continued that “Consequently, the traditional role of General Manager will be phased out and replaced with more specialized roles, like Sporting Director, Commercial Director and Operations Director, all focused on creating a performance driven and revenue generating enterprise in line with global best practices.”

The statement clarified that “this is not about removing people. It is about rethinking how the Football Clubs operate in order to survive and thrive in today’s football economy”

“The Government wishes to express its utmost gratitude to all those who have been part of the history of these great clubs. Government wishes to state further, its commitment to raising the bar in sports generally and football in particular”

“Some existing officers who have been part of the evolution of the clubs will be given adequate opportunities for further and better training while others will be reassigned new roles”, the statement concluded

By this restructuring, the former Managements of Hosea Mutla and Ferdinand Mbum led boards of Plateau United and Mighty Jets have been phased out
