President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated Dr. Bernard Mohammed Doro from Plateau State as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The President’s request for confirmation was formally transmitted to the Senate on Monday.
According to a statement signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the nomination follows the election of Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in July. Prof. Yilwatda previously served as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.
Born on January 23, 1969, in Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, Dr. Doro is an accomplished professional with more than 20 years of multidisciplinary experience in clinical practice, pharmaceutical management, strategic leadership, and community development in both the United Kingdom and Nigeria.
A highly educated and versatile professional, Dr. Doro holds degrees in Pharmacy and Law, an MBA specializing in IT-driven Business Strategy, and a Master’s degree in Advanced Clinical Practice. He is also recognized as an Independent Prescriber and Advanced Clinical Practitioner with extensive frontline experience across NHS urgent care units, walk-in centres, general practices, and hospital settings.
Beyond his professional career, Dr. Doro has been active in youth mentorship and social impact programmes, working with communities in Nigeria and the diaspora.
His nomination is seen as a strategic choice aimed at strengthening the administration’s commitment to efficiency, reform, and inclusive governance.
