The Executive Chairman of Barkin-Ladi Local Government, Hon. Stephen Pwajok Gyang, led a condolence visit to the family of late Alh. Adamu Muhammed, who was murdered by unknown gunmen on March 19, 2025.
The visit was attended by various dignitaries, including the PDP chairman of Barkin-Ladi, Honourable Pam Choji, former Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development, Honourable Sarah Yusuf, the Deputy Chairman of Barkin-Ladi, the Secretary to Barkin-Ladi Local Government Council, and other top government officials.
Honourable Pam Choji expressed his deep pain, stating that Adamu’s death was heartbreaking, and praised his loyalty to the PDP. Honourable Sarah Yusuf described Adamu as someone who always stood for the truth.
Honourable Philip Jwe, Liaison Officer to Barkin Ladi, encouraged people to emulate Adamu’s life and prayed for the family to receive comfort during their time of grief.
The former Chairman of Barkin-Ladi Local Government, Honourable Emmanuel Loman, expressed his deep sadness over the death and offered his heartfelt sympathy to the family. He mentioned that Adamu had worked with him during his tenure as chairman and that, during a crisis in the local government, Adamu had stood for peace and truth. It was unfortunate, he said, that someone of Adamu’s calibre would die in such a manner. He hoped that Adamu’s death would bring more unity among the people of Barkin Ladi.
The Executive Chairman, Hon. Stephen Pwajok Gyang, offered his condolences to the family, saying:
“I am deeply saddened by the loss of Alh. Adamu Muhammed, who was a special adviser to my administration. His demise is a great loss to our administration and the people of Barkin-Ladi.
“Adamu was a man of great integrity, who always stood for the truth. I share in the pain of his father and sympathize with the entire family.”
The Deputy Chairman of Miyetti Allah, Alh. Tambari Gizo, described Adamu’s demise as “selfless” and recalled his role in bringing lasting peace to Barkin-Ladi. He encouraged the Executive Chairman to maintain the bond between the administration and the people.
Adamu’s father, Alh. Adam Mohammed, expressed gratitude for the show of love and unity, praising his late son as faithful, meek, and humble. He encouraged people not to stop living for the truth and to always stand for what is right.
The late Alhaji Adamu Muhammed was a special adviser on revenue to the present Barkin-Ladi local government administration, chairman of Miyetti Allah Barkin-Ladi, and a devoted PDP stakeholder. He has been buried according to Muslim rites.
