Group Visits Senator Lalong Over Creation Of Lowland State

GROUP VISITS SENATOR LALONG OVER CREATION OF LOWLAND STATE

A pressure group agitating for the creation of Lowland State out of the present Plateau State has visited distinguished Senator Simon Bako Lalong, representing the Southern Senatorial District to seek his support.

The group under the name “Concerned Plateau State Citizens Movement for Creation of Lowland State” led by its leader Comrade Timkat Peter had audience with Senator Lalong at his National Assembly office to present a proposal to him for his input and further consideration.

In the presentation to Senator Lalong, the committee expressed their confidence in his leadership, saying, “You’re the father of Plateau Southern Zone and our Senator representing our zone. We’re confident in your fatherly role, which has promoted progress and development in Plateau State as well as the Southern Zone in particular. We know you are a very influential political stakeholder in Nigeria who can make this dream come true”.

Senator Lalong praised the committee’s efforts, saying their agitation and proposal is in line with democratic rights guaranteed to every citizen under the Nigerian Constitution.

He advised them to continue their agitation and also carry out wide consultation hoping that the vision will become a reality with God’s guidance.

He assured them that as a Senator representing Plateau South, he will do the needful when the matter comes before the national assembly for consideration.

Comrade Timkat Peter, Technical Committee Chairman, presented Senator Lalong with the proposed Lowland State memorandum. The committee sought Senator Lalong’s input to ensure the proposal gains widespread acceptance.

The Steering Committee members who attended the meeting included Hon. Innocent Agyo, Hon. Danjuma Sunday Happy, Dr. Magdaline Dakogol Nanyil, and Mr. Changla Nimshat. Other members include Hon. Tangsan Iliya, Hon. Dogara Mutdang Gope, Hon. Timzing Miri-Dashe, Hon. Balnan Bulus, and Hon. Yero Mohammed. All members are committed to making the creation of Lowland State a reality.
