Dogon Ruwa village in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State was thrown into mourning on May 12 as armed bandits launched a deadly assault, kľļíľng one and abducting two residents in a chilling evening raid.
The attackers stormed the village at about 5:30 p.m. on motorcycles, opening fire and killing a resident identified as Alhaji Saini Haruna on the spot.
The gunmen then seized two others — Alhaji Maikasuwa and Muhammadu Snu — and whisked them away to an unknown destination.
Following the incident, a combined team of military, police, and Department of State Services (DSS) operatives was immediately dispatched to the scene to respond and begin investigations.
The body of the slain victim was handed over to his family after they declined an autopsy in accordance with Islamic burial rites.
Authorities confirmed that a discreet investigation is underway, and efforts are being intensified to track down the assailants and secure the safe return of the kidnapped victims.
This attack adds to the growing list of violent assaults across communities in Plateau State, where insecurity remains a major concern despite increased security deployments.
