Hon James Yakubu Continues Empowerment Initiative, Benefits 69 Students And Widows In Hausa Fulani/Afizere Communities

In a heartwarming display of generosity, the former commissioner of youths and sports in plateau state Hon. James Yakubu has continued his free JAMB scholarship and women empowerment program, benefiting 24 students and 24 women from the Hausa/Fulani community across 8 wards in Jos North. The event, held at Islamiya Primary School Bauchi Road, Jos, on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, was mobilized by Hajiya Jamila and other stakeholders.

The beneficiaries, selected from Naraguta A, Ibrahim Katsina, Ali Kazaure, Rikkos, Garba Daho, Gangare and Abba Nashehu wards, received JAMB registration fees and tokens to support their small-scale businesses. Notable stakeholders in attendance included Hon. Alh Aminu Abdullahi former PDP Chairman Jos North,Councilor representing Abba Nashehu ward Hon. Auwal Turbarkalla, Councilor representing Gangare ward Hon.Adamu saleh Hassan,Hon.pius Gimba and Hon.Dala Garba

In addition, Hon. Yakubu also empowered 10 students and 10 widows with free JAMB scholarships and business tokens in Jos Jarawa ward. The event was witnessed by prominent stakeholders, including the PDP Chairman Jos North, Hon. Elijah Itsegok and Hon. Sarki Arum, the PDP Ward Chairman Jos Jarawa ward.

Hon. Pius Gimba, speaking on behalf of Hon. Yakubu, emphasized that the gesture was not politically motivated but rather a demonstration of Hon. Yakubu’s kindness and generosity. This initiative is part of Hon. Yakubu’s ongoing efforts to empower his community, having previously supported over 100 students and women with free JAMB slots and business tokens within Jos North and Bassa Local Government, totaling approximately 170 beneficiaries.

The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude, praying for God to bless Hon. Yakubu for his kindness. This selfless act has brought hope and relief to many families in the community, showcasing Hon. Yakubu’s commitment to empowering his constituents.
