In a gesture of philanthropy and recognition of women’s contributions to the party, Hon. James Yakubu has continued his empowerment program by supporting PDP Women leaders across the 20 electoral wards of Bassa Local Government Area .
The event, held at Hotel Jemash, Mista-Ali, Bassa LGA on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, saw Hon. Yakubu represented by Comr. Emmanuel Ajik, Special Assistant to the Executive Governor of Plateau State on Media.
Comr. Ajik, emphasized that Hon. Yakubu’s gesture was a heartfelt acknowledgement of the women leaders’ selfless contributions and sacrifices to the party, rather than a politically driven act. He also highlighted Hon. Yakubu’s commitment to empowering small businesses due to the present economic hardship in the country.
Recalling Hon. Yakubu’s previous empowerment program, Comr. Ajik noted that over 170 individuals, including students and widows, had benefited from the initiative so far.
The PDP Women Leader of Bassa LGA, Mrs. Sasanatu Audu, expressed her gratitude and appreciation on behalf of the beneficiaries, stating that Hon. Yakubu’s support was a first-of-its-kind gesture since they emerged as leaders of the party.
Hon. Ayiku Azankan, PDP Chairman of Bassa Local Government, also commended Hon. Yakubu’s philanthropic efforts, acknowledging his reputation as a renowned name on the Plateau and a key contributor to the PDP’s success.
The event concluded with the distribution of cash tokens to the beneficiaries by the dignitaries present.
