Determined to change the narratives of acute water scarcity and correct the old dummy that ‘boreholes can not be drilled in Langtang South’, the Executive Chairman of the Council, Hon Nanfa Alhassan Nbin has successfully drilled and tested 7 solar powered boreholes across various communities of the Local Government, out of which 5 had sufficient water yield.

Water scarcity is a major problem that residents of Langtang South have grappled with for so many years. Solutions seem not to be at sight because successive governments have always laid claims to the fact that the water table in Langtang South is very deep making drilling of boreholes impossible

Testing Verified Viable Before Reticulation

But in a concerted effort to put an end to the pathetic reality where humans and animals drink from the same source, the hardworking Chairman of the Council, Hon Nbin in fulfilment of his campaign promises is resolving permanently the problem of water scarcity in the council.

Trill Times News can authoratively quotes Mr Moses Bot, Director WASH, Langtang South by saying that “the pump testing of 5 boreholes was concluded yesterday 2nd August 2025 out of which (5 holes) in Magama, Timbol , Council Secretariat, Gamakai, and Sabongida were verified viable while (2 holes) the Nagane and Mabudi clinic were abortive”.

Mr Bot who supervised the testing of the boreholes in the 5 locations before reticulation amidst cheers and jubilations by the expectant end users commended Hon Nbin’s determination and expressed optimism that sooner than later, under the watch of the current Chairman, Langtang South shall overcome the difficulties experienced in getting portable drinking water
