In alignment with this global call, Hon. Pirfa Jingfa Tyem, the Executive Chairman of Langtang North LGA has taken a decisive step towards securing the water needs of his people by providing potable drinking water across communities in Langtang North.
For years, many households in the Local Government have struggled with access to clean water. Women and children, in particular, bore the burden of trekking long distances to fetch water from streams and unsafe sources, often exposing families to waterborne diseases. This reality is now being rewritten through deliberate intervention under Hon. Tyem’s leadership.
By sinking modern boreholes and rehabilitating existing water points, Hon. Tyem has not only reduced the pressure on vulnerable households but also restored dignity to communities that once relied on contaminated water sources. The provision of potable drinking water is more than just a project, it is a social contract of care, health, and development.
This initiative aligns perfectly with the 2025 World Water Day theme, “Water for Peace”, which emphasises that stable access to safe water fosters stability, cooperation, and resilience in communities. By ensuring that the people of Langtang North have steady access to clean water, Hon.
