A group known as JMD Media Frontiers has taken Thomas Aboki to the cleaners for alleging that Hon John Dafa’an’s representation at the National Assembly has been underwhelming. Aboki has this week in an article titled: John Dafaan: A Bench Warmer At The Green Chamber” carpeted the lawmaker representing Mikang/Shendam/Quaanpan Federal Constituency
The Frontiers labelled Aboki as “a known attack dog, attention seeker, beggar and nonentity”. The excerpts of the group’s press release in full below:
RE: JOHN DAFAAN: A BENCH WARMER AT THE GREEN CHAMBER
A REJOINDER BY JMD MEDIA FRONTIERS
We read with interest the opinion article authored by one Thomas Aboki titled “John Dafaan: A Bench Warmer at the Green Chamber.”
Ordinarily, we would have ignored the said author who is a known attack dog, attention seeker, beggar and nonentity who out of frustration, goes about begging and when he does not get what he wants from people, he resorts to insults , blackmail and name calling.
But for the sake of unsuspecting constituents who may fall prey to his antics, we put forth this responds, thus;
While everyone has the right to express concerns about leadership, it is equally important that such expressions are rooted in facts, not emotions, hearsay, petty grievances or political bitterness.
Hon. John Moenwul Dafaan is not a social media noisemaker. He is a quiet worker, purpose driven and result oriented legislator, who focuses on substance than publicity.
- On the issue of “silence”:
Hon. Dafaan may not be one of the most flamboyant voices on the floor, but equating that with incompetence is unfair naive and politically mischievous. Many impactful legislators are not daily talkers, yet they get things done quietly and strategically. Participation in House committees, behind the scenes negotiations, and lobbying are not done on cameras or in media houses. - ON PROJECTS AND DEVELOPMENT:
Thomas Aboki MUST be one of the MOST DISHONEST persons on the planet earth to claim that no efforts have been made by the Honorable member since assuming office 18 months ago. Everyone knows that there’s a magnificent well furnished 6 classroom edifice in Pan Community Secondary School, Kopfiar in Doemak, Kwalla -Kwoor- Baal – Doemak road, street lights in Kwoor, Yelwa, and Tunkus, boreholes in Kwa, Yitlaar, Kurgwi, Namu, Kuka, Angwan Shailong, Angwan Saba, Demshin, Garkawa, Piapung, and ICT Centre in GSS Kwalla to the appreciation of the benefiting communities.
In addition, Hon. Dafaan has given a total of 37 Federal Government jobs in 18 months across the Constituency, a record i doubt if anyone before has kept.
- ON REPRESENTATION:
Hon. Dafaan has engaged security agencies to address the persistent challenges in places like Namu and Bwall. He has raised a motion on the floor of the house in that regard and has participated in closed-door security briefings . All these are actions that don’t make headlines but contribute to the safety of our people. - ON POPULARITY AND PARTY STANDING:
It is wishful thinking to suggest that Hon. Dafaan has been abandoned by his party or his people. In every political cycle, it is normal for ambitious individuals to begin consultations. This does not amount to rejection. True supporters and constituents know that Hon. Dafaan is working patiently and sincerely.
- ON ADVISE:
While some of the advice given by Aboki may be well-meaning, the tone and manner of delivery suggest more of political frustration than genuine concern. Moreso, a frustrated person lacks the mental stability to see things through and even advice, so Aboki should keep his advice to himself.
Let it be on record:
Hon. John Dafaan remains focused on delivering for MSQ. He understands the weight of his mandate and is working tirelessly, albeit quietly, to leave a legacy of dedicated service to Humanity
