The Rotary Club of Jos Central has honoured the Executive Chairman of Langtang South Local Government Council, Hon. Nanfa Alhassan Nbin, with a Distinguished Service Award in recognition of his transformative leadership and exceptional service to humanity.
The award celebrates Hon. Nbin’s outstanding achievements in Langtang South, where he has spearheaded several developmental projects, including the drilling of motorized solar-powered boreholes, construction of drainages, the ongoing completion of an ultra-modern Secretariat complex, a one-storey market shopping complex, and notable efforts in strengthening local security.
The colourful event, held on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at De Bridge Villa, Jos, brought together eminent Rotarians and distinguished Nigerians to celebrate individuals who embody the Rotary ideal of “Service Above Self.”
Hon. Nbin, who was unavoidably absent, was represented by the National President of the Tarok Progressive Youth Association (TAPYA), Amb. Miri Timnan Nyantau (M.T.N).
While receiving the award on behalf of the Chairman, Amb. Nyantau commended the Rotary Club for promoting excellence in leadership and service delivery. He noted that Hon. Nbin and the Rotary movement share a common ideology rooted in dedication, community impact, and selfless service.
“This honour will undoubtedly inspire Hon. Nbin to redouble his efforts in delivering more people-oriented projects. Rotary and Hon. Nbin share the same passion for service above self,” Amb. Nyantau said.
The highlight of the ceremony was the investiture of Rtn. Chris Nwanegbo as the 43rd President of the Rotary Club of Jos Central, marking another milestone in the Club’s history of humanitarian impact and leadership excellence.
