Abuja, Nigeria – The Comrade General, Hon. Solomon Selcap Dalung, former Minister of Youth and Sports Development, has raised concerns over what he describes as misleading statements in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Independence Day address.

Speaking on the occasion of Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary, Dalung, who also leads the Movement for the Emancipation of Nigeria (M.E.N), accused the presidency of presenting “half-truths” on national security, economic policies, and youth empowerment initiatives. He urged Nigerians to critically assess government claims and demand accountability

Dalung further called on relevant government agencies to provide clarity on the issues raised, emphasizing that citizens deserve transparency, especially on matters affecting national security and youth development.
The M.E.N leader’s statement comes amid growing public debates on the effectiveness of current policies in tackling unemployment, security challenges, and governance transparency.
Dalung revealed that the Movement for the Emancipation of Nigeria would intensify its monitoring of government policies, mobilize civic voices, and, if necessary, embark on peaceful advocacy actions to ensure that Nigerians are not misled by official narratives.
