It will be fireworks at the New Jos International Stadium on Saturday, 27th September, 2025 as Plateau United, popularly called the Peace Boys, lock horns with El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri in a Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Week 6 encounter.

Having endured a shaky start to the season, Plateau United finally broke the jinx with a spirited 2:0 victory over defending champions Remo Stars on Match Day 4. Their Match Day 5 clash with Kwara United in Ilorin was postponed due to the Afonja Warriors’ involvement in the CAF Confederation Cup, leaving the Peace Boys with a rare two-week preparation window ahead of the showdown with El-Kanemi.

As the Peace Boys file out today on their artificial turf, the mission is clear – build momentum, climb the table, and give their fans in Jos something to cheer about. Standing in their way is a resilient Maiduguri side, the Warriors, who are known for their physicality and never-say-die attitude.

But with home fans and fresh legs, Plateau United will be looking to turn “peace” into power, aiming to humble the visiting Warriors and continue their resurgence in the NPFL.
