Senator (AVM Rtd.) Napoleon Binkap Bali has intensified his grassroots mobilization efforts in Plateau South, meeting with Federal Wards and Local Government PDP Chairmen and Chairladies across the six LGAs of Wase, Qua’anpan, Mikang, Shendam, Langtang North, and Langtang South.
Addressing the gathering, Napo—as he is fondly called—expressed profound gratitude to the party leaders for their unwavering support during the 2023 elections, where he secured victory against the “political Goliath,” former Governor Simon Bako Lalong, with 57,170 votes. He maintained that though the mandate was controversially “stolen” through the Court of Appeal, the struggle for justice and democratic credibility continues.
Senator Bali emphasized the need for genuine unity within the PDP, urging stakeholders to put aside internal differences in order to reclaim the party’s mandate in 2027. He reassured the leaders that the PDP will hold its National Elective Convention in November as scheduled, dispelling fears of structural lapses similar to those alleged in 2023.
Looking ahead, he expressed optimism that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, “being a true democrat,” would not tolerate manipulation or imposition in 2027, thereby ensuring a level playing field for all political parties. He also encouraged the people of Plateau South to obtain their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) to secure the future of their votes.
In his remarks, Alhaji Jaji, the PDP Chairman of Wase and Chairman of Chairmen, praised Napo’s resilience and popularity, affirming that he remains the people’s choice. He assured that the 2027 elections would be “much easier” for the PDP to win.
The meeting climaxed with a unanimous endorsement of Senator Bali as the PDP’s flagbearer in the next general elections.
Charging the grassroots, Hon. Simon Domle, PDP Zonal Chairman for Plateau South, enjoined members to intensify their efforts in strengthening the party’s base for victory.
Other critical stakeholders, including PDP Legal Adviser Prince Barr. Singa Zhattau, former House of Assembly member Hon. Nanbol Rimvyat, and Hon. Dio Lamul, Special Adviser to Governor Mutfwang, delivered goodwill messages, reinforcing confidence in the Senator’s leadership and the party’s readiness for 2027.
With the endorsement from the grassroots and the firm backing of party leaders, Senator Napo appears to be tightening his grip on Plateau South politics, positioning himself as a formidable force ahead of the next general elections.
