Plateau State Polytechnic, Barkin Ladi, has reopened the sale of admission forms for Higher National Diploma (HND) and other diploma programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session, following strong public demand.
In a statement issued on Thursday, January 22, 2026, Management of the institution approved the reopening of the admission portal from Thursday, January 22 to Sunday, January 25, 2026.
The Registrar urged interested applicants to take advantage of the short window, stressing that the portal will be closed permanently for the session at the expiration of the deadline.
According to the notice signed by Job Pam Gwom for the Registrar, both staff and prospective candidates are advised to act promptly, as no further extension will be granted. The Polytechnic also reminded applicants that JAMB admissions are still ongoing.
The renewed interest in Plateau State Polytechnic is not unconnected with recent reforms under the leadership of the Rector, Dr. Clement Selchum Chirman, appointed by the administration of Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang under the “The Time Is Now” mantra.
Before his appointment, student enrollment stood at below 4,000. Today, the figure has risen to over 8,000.
Dr. Chirman, a seasoned polytechnic academician and former Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) in the institution as well as former ASUP National Publicity Secretary, is credited with addressing long-standing challenges that delayed students’ graduation.
These delays had previously forced many prospective students to seek admission in neighbouring institutions such as Federal Polytechnic Bauchi, Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic (ATAP) Bauchi, and Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa.
With the introduction of over 20 new HND programmes and strict adherence to the academic calendar ensuring timely for graduation without delays, the Polytechnic has regained public confidence.
Management says the decision to reopen the portal is a clear response to public demand and growing trust in the institution’s academic stability and reforms.
