Senator Simon Mwadkwon, former Senate Minority Leader of the Tenth Assembly, paid a condolence visit to Sheikh Muhammad Sani Yahya Jingir, Chairman of the Ulama’u Council of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatil Sunnah (JIBWIS), on Sunday, 23rd March 2025, to offer his sympathies over the passing of Sheikh Sa’eedu Hassan Jingir, the Deputy Chairman. During the visit, Senator Mwadkwon, a respected scholar-turned-politician, expressed his condolences to Sheikh Jingir, other members of the Council, and followers, emphasizing his presence was to sympathize with them on their loss.
He pointed out that death is an inevitable path for all mortals, and given the uncertainty surrounding the timing of one’s demise, it is essential to prepare and seek reconciliation with God. He expressed appreciation for the deceased’s positive contributions to the unity, peace, and progress of the state and nation.
He reiterated the importance of prioritizing unity, peaceful coexistence, and harmonious living, while also highlighting the significance of religious tolerance. He encouraged those present to treat one another with respect and dignity, regardless of their religious, ethnic, or political backgrounds.
He also warned against divisive tendencies that could undermine the fragile peace within the state. He stressed that a collective effort is necessary to achieve lasting peace, development, and prosperity.
