Reputable for his magnanimity, generosity and philanthropism without tribe, religion or regional bias, Distinguished Senator Simon Mwadkwon, PhD, former Senate Minority Leader of the Tenth Senate, has distributed 25 kilograms of rice each to over 400 citizens in Plateau State to mitigate the adverse effects of economic hardship on the populace.
While presenting the food items to the beneficiaries, Senator Mwadkwon commended their resilience and commitment to a better Plateau State and Nigeria.
According to the scholar-turned-politician, this gesture was motivated by his desire to share his blessings with others and alleviate the burden of economic hardship.
He underscored the importance of unity and treating each other with dignity as human beings created by God, regardless of religious, ethnic, or political affiliations.
He also charged the youths to harness the potential of social media by creating healthy and innovative content through creativity.
He noted that “one can articulate their views without engaging in insults, blackmail, or character assassination. Social media is a valuable platform for healthy networking, effective communication, and wealth creation when employed judiciously.”
He lauded the Governor of Plateau State, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang, for providing sound and credible leadership, as exemplified by his robust and people-centric policies and programs.
He exhorted the state’s citizens to lend the necessary support to the governor to achieve his vision of transforming the state, fostering unity among its citizens, enhancing the lives of its people, promoting peaceful coexistence, and bequeathing a more prosperous state to future generations.
He also stressed the importance of genuine patriotism and value addition in advancing the nation.
The beneficiaries of the gesture, overcome with emotion, commended him for his generosity, recognizing their plight during difficult times and addressing one of their basic human needs. They prayed for God to reward him and provide additional resources to enable him to extend his humanitarian intervention and selfless service to more people.
