The Tarok PDP Youth in Diaspora, one of the most influential youth blocs within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Southern Plateau, have officially coronated Hon. Joseph Nannim Langyi, popularly known as Barrister, as their new Patron.
The symbolic event, which was exclusively covered by Trill Times News, took place on Thursday, 23rd October, 2025 in Jos, drawing the presence of PDP youth leaders, stakeholders, and well-wishers from across Langtang North and the wider Tarok nation.
Hon. Langyi, who previously represented Langtang North Central Constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly, was described as a “pillar of courage, loyalty, and resilience” by the group’s leadership.
His tenure in the Assembly, before what they termed his “inglorious removal by a highly contentious decision of the Court of Appeal,” remains fondly remembered for his passionate advocacy for youth empowerment and grassroots development.
Speaking during the inauguration, Nanzing Lamtur Zoman, Chairman of the Tarok PDP Youth in Diaspora, said the choice of Hon. Langyi as Patron was deliberate and inspired by his commitment to the PDP and the Tarok cause.
“Hon. Langyi has remained a dependable ally of the PDP, even in difficult times. His courage, accessibility, and loyalty to the ideals of our great party made him stand out as the natural choice for this honour,” Zoman stated.
He emphasized that the appointment was not just a recognition of Langyi’s political pedigree but also a call to mentorship and guidance for the youth wing as it continues to play a strategic role in strengthening the PDP across Tarokland.
In his brief remarks, Hon. Langyi expressed gratitude for the recognition, pledging to continue supporting youth development and unity within the PDP.
“This gesture humbles me deeply. I accept it as a challenge to keep working with our youth to sustain the PDP’s relevance and cohesion in Tarokland and beyond,” he said.
The event concluded with reaffirming the group’s commitment to party unity and grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 general elections.
