Jos – A strong-worded message from Hon. Barr. Dauda Lamba, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has stirred discussions across Plateau State and beyond as he called for urgent action to curb what he described as the “cankerworm of hypocrisy” in society.

Posting on his verified Facebook page on Friday, October 3, 2025, the former Commissioner for Information and later Youth and Sports under the administration of Chief Joshua Chibi Dariye, and later Special Adviser to former Governor Jonah David Jang, warned that no society riddled with hypocrisy can ever truly grow or develop.

In his words: “A society of hypocrisy will never grow and develop. Stop the few hypocrites among us from continually infesting our system and holding the rest of us to ransom. Stop the hypocrites from undermining our collective desire to progress as a people.”

Hon. Lamba further described hypocrites as “a dangerous set of people who always think backwards and look forward to destruction,” likening them to “a cankerworm that eats into the very fabric of the society’s economic life.”

According to him, the time has come for society to identify, isolate, and treat hypocrites as “saboteurs and bile miscreants” if genuine progress and development are to be achieved.

He concluded his message with a passionate appeal: “Stop this carnage, stop the spread of hypocrisy, and curtail the activities of the hypocrites among us.”

Political observers say Lamba’s post reflects his consistent stance on moral and ethical responsibility in leadership, echoing his long-standing belief in truth and accountability during his years of public service.

His remarks are already generating responses across social and political circles, with many interpreting them as a timely reminder of the dangers of insincerity in governance and public life.
