Prof Patricia Manko Lar, the Acting Vice Chancellor of Yakubu Gowon University, formerly known as University of Abuja has eulogized women in academia and all walks of life while commemorating International Women’s Day
Prof Lar in a video message said “On this International Women’s Day 2025, we, at the Yakubu Gowon University, formerly University of Abuja, celebrate the remarkable achievements of women in academia, research, leadership, and all spheres of life.”
The erudite scholar rightly observed thay “Women have been at the forefront of knowledge creation and innovation, shaping the future of education and society.”
Prof Lar wishes “every woman in this esteemed University community and beyond – your support, cooperation and determination to succeed in life inspires us all”.
She however, observed that “There is need to “Accelerate action””
Prof Lar was appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for an initial duration of six months following the leadership crisis that rocked the citadel of learning
