WASE – The Deputy Chairman of Wase Local Government Council, Hon. Nantip Padur, has restated Hon Hamisu Mohammed Anani administration’s resolve to uphold inclusivity where every tribe in the local government is respected, valued, and given equal opportunity to thrive.
Hon. Padur made this known on Wednesday while playing host to a high-powered delegation of the Tarok Progressive Youth Association (TAPYA) at the Council’s Conference Room. TAPYA, the umbrella body of Tarok youth worldwide, was on a courtesy visit to felicitate with the Deputy Chairman and encourage him in his role as a true ambassador of the Tarok nation.

Before the meeting went into a closed-door session, Amb. Nyantau, in his remarks, called for genuine unity of purpose among the Tarok of Wase. He emphasized that progress for the Tarok nation can only be achieved when divisions are put aside and collective interests take center stage.
“Our strength lies in unity, not in disunity. The time has come for us as Tarok sons and daughters in Wase to speak with one voice and work together in charting a brighter political and economic future,” the TAPYA President said.
During the visit, Amb. Nyantau also presented an official invitation letter to Hon. Padur for the forthcoming Tarok Youth Interactive Session with Political Leaders, scheduled for Sunday, 5th October 2025 at the NBTT Hall, Old Airport Road, Jos. The session will bring together Tarok political leaders – both elected and appointed, as well as aspirants—to deliberate on the way forward for the Tarok nation.
In his response, the Deputy Chairman commended TAPYA for the initiative, describing it as timely and necessary for the unity and political progress of the Tarok people. He further promised to personally attend the session and lend his voice to the conversation.
Padur also seized the moment to salute his boss, the Council Chairman, Hon. Hamisu Mohammed Anani, for championing inclusivity in a local government that is home to diverse ethnic groups. He noted that the strength of Wase lies in the unity of its people, stressing:
“This administration will continue to carry everyone along. Every community, no matter its size or tribe, has a place in Wase. Inclusivity is the key to sustainable peace and development.”
The meeting also featured goodwill messages from the Chairman of the Ngwang Ishi O’Tarok Development Association (NIODA), Wase Chapter, and the former Plateau State NUT Chairman, Comrade Gunshin Yarling. Both leaders urged Tarok youth to embrace entrepreneurship as a means of building self-reliance and reducing dependence on political patronage.
“Politics alone cannot provide all the answers. Our youth must begin to see entrepreneurship as a tool for empowerment and a way to contribute meaningfully to society,” Comrade Yarling charged.
