A strong wave of confidence and unity has greeted the senatorial aspiration of Chief Dr Nanzing Nangil Nden, as his immediate electoral ward and maternal uncles openly assured him of victory ahead of 2027.

Dr Nden, a former Federal Director, seasoned financial expert and aspirant under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), formally declared his intention to contest for the Plateau South Senatorial seat during a well-attended meeting at his immediate Federal Ward of Pil Gani in Langtang North.

Speaking with clarity and conviction, Dr Nden told his people that his aspiration is driven by a sincere desire to consolidate development in the Southern Zone.

He reminded them of his long years of service and personal sacrifices made in private capacity, particularly in human capital development, security support, education, water provision and community welfare across the zone.

According to him, becoming a Senator will give him a stronger platform to expand these efforts and ensure inclusive development for all communities in Plateau South.

He therefore humbly sought the blessings, prayers and support of his people.

The response from the ward was swift and emphatic.

APC Ward Chairman Nanvyap Garba, Critical Stakeholders Chairman Bernard Poyi Wuyep, alongside Emmanuel Tali, Napoleon Vonzhi, and a representative of the women, all spoke glowingly about Dr Nden’s track record.

They described him as a man of integrity, capacity and compassion, whose past actions as a private citizen clearly show what he would achieve if entrusted with public office.

They unanimously pledged total support, offering fatherly blessings and boldly declaring that Dr Nden would return home victorious in 2027 as the Senator representing Plateau South.

In keeping with Tarok tradition, Dr Nden also visited his maternal uncles of Kumbwang to formally inform them of his aspiration. The meeting was emotional and deeply symbolic.

The uncles recalled how, in 2023, Dr Nden had stepped down from the race after intense persuasion by critical Tarok stakeholders in support of a Tarok candidate, based on a clear promise that he would be fully supported in 2027.

They called on all stakeholders to honour that promise, stressing that unity, fairness and respect for agreement are the pillars of leadership values. The uncles assured Dr Nden of their full backing, prayers and moral authority as he moves forward.

Following the endorsements from his grassroots base, traditional blessings, and renewed confidence across the zone, with the message from Pil Gani to Kumbwang, 2027 is seen by many as Dr Nanzing Nangil Nden’s time to serve Plateau South in the Senate.
