Your Excellency, Our Football-loving Governor,

I write this letter with profound respect, humility, and sincere hope, as a loyal citizen of Plateau State and a passionate believer in the future that your administration is working tirelessly to build for our people.
Your Excellency, one of the qualities that has endeared you to many Plateau citizens is your genuine love for football and sports development. Your administration’s bold decision to remodel the historic Rwang Pam Township Stadium, Jos, is not merely a construction project; it is a statement of vision, confidence, and determination to restore Plateau State to its rightful place on Nigeria’s sporting map.
It is because of this vision that I most respectfully appeal to Your Excellency to kindly prioritise the candidature of Hon. Suleiman Yahaya Kwande for election into the Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) representing the North Central Zone, and to consider it a strategic Plateau State project. The 2026 NFF Election is scheduled for September, 26 in Lafia, Nasarawa State
Your Excellency, opportunities such as this do not come often. Having a committed and experienced Plateau son on the NFF Executive Committee would give our state a stronger voice where critical football decisions are made. Hon Kwande’s presence on the Board of NFF will in no small measure improve Plateau State’s chances of attracting FIFA Goal Projects, FIFA Grassroots Development Grants, youth football development programmes, coaching and referee development initiatives, and other football infrastructure opportunities.
Most importantly, as your administration works to transform the Rwang Pam Township Stadium into a modern football arena capable of hosting major national and international matches, a Plateau representative within the NFF would be well positioned to advocate for Super Eagles home fixtures, national youth competitions, women’s football tournaments, and other prestigious football events to be brought to Jos. Given our naturally clement weather, football-friendly environment, and improving infrastructure, this aspiration is both realistic and attainable.
Hon. Suleiman Yahaya Kwande is not an ordinary aspirant. He has already proven his capacity as Chairman of the Plateau State Football Association (PFA), where his leadership over the past three years has earned respect across the football circle.
Our amiable football-loving governor sir, Kwande’s previous service as a Member of the NFF Executive Board further distinguishes him as a man who understands the workings of Nigerian football and possesses the relationships and experience necessary to effectively represent the North Central Zone and protect Plateau State’s interests.
Your Excellency, I humbly plead that you kindly support Hon. Kwande financially and also consider using your respected influence to engage your brother governors across the North Central states, with a view to encouraging their support and facilitating outreach to their respective Football Association Chairmen, who are the delegates in this election. Your intervention could make a decisive difference.
The victory of Hon. Kwande would not be a personal triumph alone; it would be a victory for Plateau State. It would create opportunities for our youth, stimulate tourism, strengthen the hospitality industry, encourage private investment in sports, and complement your administration’s ongoing efforts to reposition Plateau as a destination for sports, recreation, conferences, and tourism. Every major football event hosted in Jos would mean more visitors, fuller hotels, greater economic activity, and increased national visibility for our state.
In many ways, a Kwande victory would represent the return of Plateau State to national and international football relevance. It would provide your administration with a trusted ally within the highest decision-making structure of Nigerian football, someone who understands Plateau, believes in Plateau, and can effectively lobby for Plateau having represented Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency twice.
Your Excellency, I respectfully submit that supporting Hon. Suleiman Yahaya Kwande is not merely support for an individual; it is an investment in the future of Plateau football, Plateau youth, Plateau tourism, and the enduring legacy of your administration.
I sincerely pray that God grants Your Excellency wisdom and strength as you continue to lead our beloved state.
