Dara George Lambert, a young Berom leader has urged his fellow compatriots to redirect their energies to their elected National Assembly lawmakers on the constituency’s gross underdevelopment instead of dissipating energy on attacking Rt Hon Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, member representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency
Lambert who took to his social media handles issued the rallying call on the backdrop of incessant social media attacks on Rt Hon Gagdi by his fellow Berom youth who are neither members of the same Federal Constituency nor Senatorial district with Gagdi. He instead enjoined them to scrutinize their own elected members to focus on the developmental challenges that plagued their constituency
Lambert in a message titled: “Caution to Berom Youths” reads:
“Let’s be mindful of our actions and words, especially when it comes to casting aspersions on RT. Hon. Adamu Yusuf Gagdi. Instead of criticizing, let’s reflect on our own community’s achievements and shortcomings. We have our own members who haven’t made significant contributions, yet we’re quick to judge others”.
“In almost all the social media platforms, the Berom Young men are leading in insulting Gagdi. Are we the only people who see Gagdi as our enemy? The Mwagavul people who have the governor today are not leading this fight but the Berom Youths”.
“Moreso; Let’s not forget our senator who was imposed on us, and is now underperforming.
It’s as if he was selected to do nothing!”
“Meanwhile, our local governments are struggling with zero development, as if Plateau State only consists of Jos South and Jos North”.
“Let’s focus on Calling our representatives to order while promoting them if they do well rather than tearing others down who are doing absolutely well for their constituents”, he concluded
Rt Hon Gagdi who is not shy of explicitly venting his opinions on issues drew the wrath of the youth when he claimed that Federal Government presence was more than State government presence. This many people believed, was a direct political attack on Gov Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang of Plateau State with whom Gagdi has consistently engaged.
Berom, Tarok and Mwaghavul, the three major tribes of the state are considered the strongest supporters and beneficiaries of Mutfwang led administration, hence the understandably political reprisal verbal attacks on Gagdi by the Berom Youth
