Dr. Bege Katuka, a former Local Government Chairman, has officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a resignation letter addressed to the Chairman of APC in Asso Ward, Jema’a Local Government Area, Dr. Katuka cited dissatisfaction with the party’s internal politics as a key reason for his departure.

Dr. Katuka, who was a founding member of the APC since 2014, stated that he had long considered leaving the party but remained committed despite various challenges. However, he said the party’s approach to leadership and its treatment of members under different administrations compelled him to take “the path of honor” and resign.

“This letter marks the end of my commitment, dedication, and journey with the party I have worked and fought so hard to build, promote, and sustain,” he wrote.

He also emphasized the importance of a multi-party system in Nigeria’s democracy, stressing that competition among political parties provides voters with more alternatives and strengthens democratic institutions.

With his resignation, Dr. Katuka also relinquished his position as the Ward Stakeholder Chairman of the APC in Asso Ward.

He expressed gratitude to the APC and its members for their support throughout his time in the party.

“I am most grateful for the support you gave me while our comradeship in the APC struggle lasted,” he wrote, wishing them success in their continued efforts for the progress of Asso Ward, Jema’a LGA, Kaduna State, and Nigeria as a whole.
