The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nentawe Goshwe Yiltwada, on Tuesday received the umbrella body of women aspirants in the party at the National Secretariat in Abuja.
The delegation, under the Forum of 2027 APC Female Aspirants Network, was led by its National Convener, Nikky Onyeri, alongside the National Co-Convener, Beni Lar. They visited to congratulate the chairman on his emergence at the party’s recent national convention.
During the meeting, the women spoke on the need for more space for female participation in politics. They said more women are ready to contest and contribute to governance.
In his response, Yiltwada recognised the role of women in politics and said the party would continue to support their involvement at different levels.
The meeting also gave both sides the chance to discuss how to better support female aspirants as activities begin ahead of the next elections.
The Forum of 2027 APC Female Aspirants Network is the umbrella body for women in the party seeking elective positions, with the aim of improving women’s representation in governance.
