Kaduna-based cleric, Reverend David Ayuba Azzaman, has addressed concerns about his perceived silence on the administration of Governor Uba Sani compared to his outspoken criticism of former Governor Nasir El-Rufai.

In a Facebook post, Rev. Azzaman responded to a journalist who questioned why he had “stopped being a critic of the government” since El-Rufai left office.

He explained that his criticism of governance is not arbitrary but based on merit.

According to him, he has not been as critical of Governor Uba Sani because, in his view, the current governor is performing better than his predecessor.

“I don’t criticize His Excellency Gov. Uba Sani because, to be honest, he is better than Nasir El-Rufai, and I have not seen what to criticize him for,” he wrote.

However, he pointed out that Governor Uba Sani is not beyond criticism, citing his opposition to the local government elections in Kaduna State and the issue of amnesty for bandits.

“But the truth is, he is better than Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai,” Rev. Azzaman concluded.
