Hon. Mrs. Dalen Deborah Emem, the Deputy Chairman of Langtang North Local Government Area, has officially resigned her membership from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). According to a resignation letter dated December 30, 2026, and received by Mr. Koyil Lohtur, Chairman of the PDP, Warok Ward, Hon. Emem announced her decision to leave the party with immediate effect.

In the letter addressed to the PDP Chairman, Warok Ward, Langtang North Local Government Area, Plateau State, Hon. Emem expressed appreciation to the PDP for providing her and her political leader, Hon. Pirfa Jingfa Tyem, the opportunity to serve at the local government level. She noted that the party’s platform contributed significantly to their experience in governance and service to the people.

However, she explained that her resignation was informed by what she described as the “current political realities” and ongoing litigations that have weakened the party. She also stated that her decision was taken in total loyalty and allegiance to her political leader, Hon. Pirfa Jingfa Tyem, and the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang.

Hon. Emem concluded the letter by thanking the party leadership and members for their support and cooperation during her time in the PDP.

Her resignation marks another notable political development in Langtang North Local Government Area and adds to the growing list of shifts within the political space of Plateau State.
