The All Progressives Congress (APC) has gained fresh political strength in Plateau South following today’s announcement by former senator, Air Vice Marshal (Rtd) Napoleon B. Bali, that he will contest the Plateau South Senatorial seat in the 2027 General Elections.

In a statement made available to Trill Times News, Bali said he has decided to once again offer himself for service in response to the continued support and encouragement from the people of the senatorial district.

Trill Times News recalls that during the 2023 General Elections, Bali defeated the then incumbent Governor of Plateau State, Simon Bako Lalong, at the polls with 57,170 votes, a result that showed strong voter support across Plateau South. However, the victory was later overturned by the Court of Appeal over issues relating to the political structure of his former party.

Despite the court ruling, Bali noted that his relationship with the people remains strong, adding that the experience has not weakened the trust built over time.

Explaining his decision to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bali said the party’s prolonged internal and legal challenges made it necessary to reconsider the best platform to secure the future of Plateau South. Following consultations with stakeholders, he announced his resignation from the PDP and his decision to pursue his 2027 ambition on the platform of the APC.

He added that his move aligns with the leadership direction of Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang and the local government chairmen in the shared effort to promote peace, security, and development in Plateau State.

Bali stressed that his ambition is driven by service and the need to give Plateau South a strong and consistent voice at the National Assembly.

He called on the people to continue to support him as he moves forward on what he described as a renewed journey of service.
