In a shocking revelation that has rocked Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, the institution has uncovered a major fake results syndicate, prompting the suspension of five staff members, including a Deputy Registrar.

The disclosure was made by Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, Rector of the Polytechnic, during a press briefing held Wednesday evening in Lokoja. He described the discovery as a “serious threat to the integrity and reputation” of the institution.

Professor Ogbo emphasized that the Polytechnic has a zero-tolerance policy towards academic fraud and unethical practices. He revealed that an internal investigation traced irregularities in the processing of students’ results, leading to the identification of staff allegedly involved in manipulating official academic records.

“Our commitment is to protect the credibility of our institution and ensure that every qualification awarded reflects genuine student performance,” he stated.

The Rector confirmed that the suspended staff, pending further investigation, include administrative and academic personnel who allegedly facilitated the circulation of falsified results.

The Polytechnic management has assured students, parents, and stakeholders that strict measures will be implemented to prevent recurrence, reinforcing the institution’s stance on accountability, transparency, and academic excellence.

This decisive action signals Kogi State Polytechnic’s determination to safeguard its academic standards and maintain public confidence in the qualifications it awards.
