Tarok Progressive Youth Association (TAPYA), the umbrella body of Tarok youth worldwide, joins the rest of the world in marking International Women’s Day. On this special occasion, the association celebrates the hard work, strength, and dedication of Tarok women and daughters who continue to contribute greatly to the growth and development of Tarok land, Plateau State, and Nigeria.

TAPYA notes with great pride the important role Tarok women play in the life of our people. “At home and in the community, they have remained dependable pillars who nurture families, guide the young, and support the progress of society. As mothers, farmers, traders, teachers, professionals, and community leaders, Tarok women continue to show strength, discipline, and commitment in everything they do”, said Amb Miri Timnan Nyantau (M.T.N), the TAPYA National President.

The National President continued that “their efforts over the years have helped to build stable homes and strong societies. Many of the values that define the Tarok people today are preserved and passed on by women who work quietly but tirelessly for the good of their families and the wider society. For this reason, TAPYA proudly describes Tarok women and daughters as true builders of the home and the Tarok nation”.

While celebrating them, TAPYA also calls on Tarok women and daughters to join hands with community leaders and other stakeholders to confront the disturbing issue of child trafficking in our land. Mothers and women in general play a very important role in protecting children and guiding families. The association therefore urges them to continue speaking out, creating awareness, and working together to stop this embarrassing trend in our land.

TAPYA believes that with the continued support, wisdom, and vigilance of Tarok women, our villages will remain safe and our children will grow in a better and more secure environment.

Once again, TAPYA celebrates all Tarok women and daughters for their sacrifices, their strength, and their commitment to building better families and a stronger Tarok nation.
